corinneweisgerber

For this assignment, you will need to:

Set up a free website for your semester-long reporting projects on Wix. Here are  free tutorials:

Create a visual identity for your blog by creating either a blog logo or banner or both. Your

visual identity must reflect the style and interest of your blog and display some creativity. Here are some good examples of banners: https://www.canva.com/learn/banner-ads/. And here are some sites that will allow you to create a banner or logo:

Write a blog post introducing yourself and the topic you will report on. This should be a well-edited 300-500-word introductory blog post to introduce yourself and set the tone and focus for the blog. In this piece you should explain what the purpose of your blog is and why you decided to cover this particular beat. Your introduction must contain at least one picture or video and one hyperlink. If you need help figuring out how to post a blog post to Wix, check this out: https://support.wix.com/en/article/wix-blog-adding-and-setting-up-your-blog.

Upload a Word document containing:

  1. The beat you picked for your project

  2. The URL for the website you set up for this project. At this point your website needs to contain:

  • A name which reflects the beat you picked

  • A theme which captures the topic and the overall feel you want to create

  • A carefully designed banner and/or logo which captures the topic and the overall feel you want to create.

  • Your introductory blog post which explains what the purpose of your blog is and why you decided to cover this particular beat. Your post must contain at least one picture or video and one working hyperlink.
