"We are all digital workers now. Previous generations of journalists—and other workers in all industries—had the luxury of expecting some supergeeks in their organizations to take care of the digital duties for them. For better or worse, those days are gone."

Hi, I'm Dr. Weisgerber

Curious who’s behind this blog? I am a communication professor and researcher in Austin, Texas and I’m fascinated by the intersection of human communication and technology. I became interested in computer-mediated communication in the early days of the Internet and have been studying the impact of new communication technologies on our relationships, identities, and ways of seeing the world since the beginning of my doctoral studies at the Pennsylvania State University. Much of my latest research has focused on new media and pedagogy, and on digital identity. My research has been published in academic journals, book chapters, and various online forums and presented at both academic and industry conferences.

Fun fact: I was born and raised in Luxembourg, one of the smallest countries in the world.
